First look at new Channel 4 comedy Back, starring Mitchell and Webb

Coming in early autumn, Back marks Peep Show duo Mitchell and Webb’s return to the channel.

The first new image of Channel 4’s Back has been released in anticipation of its launch later this year.

The six-episode series will follow Stephen (David Mitchell) as he takes over his late father’s pub, sidelined by Andrew (Robert Webb), one of the many former foster-children of Stephen’s parents. Andrew returns to town after years of travelling, to revisit the family that he thinks changed his life. Unsurprisingly, Stephen and Andrew don’t get along as Stephen becomes convinced that Andrew is out to steal his life.

Back is written and created by Simon Blackwell, who previously worked with the pair on Peep Show and also wrote for The Thick of It and Veep. The series is directed by Ben Palmer, produced by Kate Daughton, executive produced by Kenton Allen, Simon Blackwell, Matthew Justice, David Mitchell, Robert Webb and is a Mitchell & Webb Company production in association with Big Talk Productions for Channel 4.
