Mitchell & Webb form indie

16 September, 2010 | By Jake Kanter

Comedians David Mitchell and Robert Webb are to launch their own indie in a bid to secure greater creative control over future projects.

That Mitchell and Webb Company will be a joint venture between the double act and Big Talk Productions, with the indie’s chief executive, Kenton Allen, and managing director, Matthew Justice, taking up board positions.

The new firm will exclusively create and produce all new Mitchell and Webb programming, although it will not affect the pair’s existing projects, including Channel 4’s Peep Show, produced by Objective.

The indie will be backed by Big Talk’s business, development and production resources, and BBC Worldwide will get first look at distribution rights for new content.
