On Thursday July 22nd, 2010 Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World had it’s international World Premiere at the San Diego Comic-Con. Edgar Wright introduced the film’s cast to a packed to capacity Hall H and previewed a number of clips and took questions form the floor. Following the panel Edgar led 1500 lucky fans who had picked up a special ’1-UP’ badge on a 10 minute walk to the nearby Balboa Theatre. These lucky 1500 were then shown the film in full.
Dan the Automator and Kid Koala played exclusive sets prior to the film. At the end of the film Edgar once again took to the stage and as the screen rolled up, introduced a super secret mini-gig from featured artists Metric to a standing ovation. The film played on the Friday and Saturday nights too with cast and crew in attendance on all three nights. Queues for the free Saturday screening began at 8:45am – a full 10 hours before the auditorium opened.
The Scott Pilgrim Experience
During Comic-Con attendees were also able to visit the ‘Scott Pilgrim Experience‘ where they could print custom T-Shirts, hear the film’s soundtrack, appear in an action flip-book of their own with friends, collect cast signatures, see exclusive interviews and play the Scott Pilgrim video game from Ubisoft.
