The nominees for this year’s Rose d’Or Awards have been announced.
Big Talk’s Raised By Wolves and Mum have received two of the three nominations for Best Sitcom at the 55th annual Rose d’Or Awards.
Raised by Wolves is written by bestselling author and award-winning columnist Caitlin Moran and her sister Caroline Moran. The critically acclaimed comedy was Channel 4’s second highest rating comedy of 2015. The series stars Helen Monks, Alexa Davies, Rebekah Staton and Philip Jackson. The second series aired in March 2016.
Mum, written by Stefan Golaszewski, and which was described as a ‘subtle masterpiece’ by The Times, stars Lesley Manville, Peter Mullan, Sam Swainsbury, Lisa McGrillis, Ross Boatman, Dorothy Atkinson, Marlene Sidaway and Karl Johnson. The comedy reunited the creative team behind the BAFTA award-winning sitcom for BBC Three’s Him and Her and aired in May 2016.
Executive producer of both shows and Big Talk CEO Kenton Allen said, ‘Big Talk prides itself on working with the very best writing and acting talent in the UK, so it’s extremely flattering that the prestigious Rose d’Or jury have recognised two of our much loved shows from the last twelve months. All I have to worry about now is the seating plan on the night, which is a bit of a headache, along with how to get everyone to Berlin and back in one piece.’
The Rose d’Or awards honour the best in international radio, television and online entertainment. Over 400 programmes from more than 130 broadcasters and production companies in 33 different countries were submitted for this year’s awards.
The 55th annual Rose d’Or Awards ceremony will take place at the Axica in Berlin on Tuesday 13th September 2016.
