Lara has spent over a decade working in development and production across comedy radio, television and film, previously working for BBC development, BBC Radio 1, Kudos Film and TV, Origin Pictures, Tempesta Film, and ARG at Avalon TV.

Most recently Lara has developed and produced two series of RTS Award-winning Peacock (Steve Stamp and Ben Murray) for BBC Three, Screen Nation award-winning comedy-drama series Just a Couple (Sebastian Thiel) for BBC Three, comedy short Behind The Filter (Phoebe Walsh) for BBC Three, and comedy Blap Bounty (Tez Ilyas) for Channel 4. In addition to these, she helped develop both series of award-winning comedy Back (Simon Blackwell) for Channel 4, the BAFTA-nominated ITV2 comedy series Timewasters (Daniel Lawrence Taylor) and comedy-drama series Defending the Guilty (Kieron Quirke) for BBC Two.

She has a keen interest in supporting new talent and is currently a mentor for the NFTS comedy course, on the judging panel for writing programmes, giving talks at and working with the LOCO Film Festival, CTBF, BAFTA Guru, RTS, The Smalls Film Festival, and on the jury for the BAFTA TV Awards and BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing 2018–2022.

Lara currently features in the Dove TV campaign, speaking on empowering women and their representation on our screens. She also helped set up and manage a storytelling charity for schools across London and the Betty and Peter scriptwriting programme. Recently Lara has set up 'Women in Scripted TV' - an inclusive space for women to connect and support each other rise within the industry.
